Let’s Make Russell County Great is Sept 7

Friday, September 1st, 2017

Please join us for a public meeting on Thursday, Sept 7, 6:30 pm at Fossil Creek Hotel, Russell to brainstorm ways to make Russell County an even greater place to live.

This is the second in a series of meetings hosted by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, Russell County Area Community Foundation (RCACF) and Russell County Economic Development and CVB.

“The purpose of the meeting is to promote strategic-doing, a process that brings civic leaders together to prioritize and collaborate on areas that could transform Russell County, such as investment in parks, the arts, downtown revitalization, rural housing, entrepreneurship, tourism, and economic development,” said Angie Muller, Executive Director of RCACF.

Betty Johnson of the Dane G. Hansen Foundation will facilitate discussions. Focus groups will build on suggestions generated at the first meeting in June. From this, they will form smaller groups to develop action plans.

The community at-large is invited, including government, business owners, farmers, ranchers, educators, clergy, retired persons, young professionals, volunteers, health officials, stay-at-home parents, and all others who wish to see a vibrant Russell County.

“We hope to see representation from every Russell County┬ácommunity,” said Muller. “It is an opportunity to bring your good ideas to the table.”

This event is free and open to the public. To reserve your space, please RSVP to the Russell County Area Community Foundation at 785.445.3611 or rcacf@eaglecom.net.
