RCACF awards $73,105 in spring grants

The Russell County Area Community Foundation (RCACF) has awarded $73,105 in grants to organizations that benefit the Russell County area, including support for education, the arts, community beautification, city-led programs and public safety.

Funding comes from the Helen Hampl Student Aid Fund, USD 407 Appleseed Fund, Kansas Health Foundation Russell Health Fund, Kansas Health Foundation Children’s Fund and the Dane G. Hansen Foundation.

  • Bunker Hill Lions Club – Bunker Hill Community Building Acoustic Correction – $4,000
  • City of Luray – City Park Revitalization – $13,550
  • Gorham Fire Department – Gear Washer/Extractor – $3,649
  • Lucas Chamber of Commerce – Post Rock Scenic Byway Brochures – $1,000 and Lucas Adam’s Apple Festival – $500
  • Nex-Generation Round Up for Youth – Young AmeriTowne Field Trips – $3,720
  • ROAR – Russell VFW Mural – $5,000
  • Russell County Economic Development and CVB – Cael Evans Youth Hunt – $2,500
  • Russell County Historical Society – Russell County Museum Development – $7,475
  • Russell PRIDE – Walking Trail Trash Response – $2,000
  • Smoky Hills Public Television – Literacy Leadership for Russell County Children – $1,000
  • USD 407 and Russell Regional Hospital – Emergency Football Helmet Removal Tools – $456
  • USD 407 – Small World Initiative – $18,000, Bronco Media Video Expansion – $6,820 and Young Readers’ Conference – $3,435
