I Love Russell County, Community Foundation Match Month Campaign

The Russell County Area Community Foundation (RCACF) exists to preserve our rural way of life. In February, we have the bold goal to raise $50,000 as part of the I Love Russell County Campaign to strengthen the Fund for a Better Russell County Area, a permanent endowment that awards grants for parks, recreation, schools, the arts, public health, economic development and more. Here are some ways grants from the Fund for a Better Russell County Area help our local communities:

  • Promote Post Rock Country as a major tourism destination through the work of the newly formed Post Rock Coalition in Lucas
  • Purchase 20-acres of commercial real estate adjacent to I-70 to attract new business and promote significant economic development
  • Build vibrant community parks in Gorham and Luray
  • Revitalize downtown Russell by supporting a community market square and visitor’s center
  • Grants for area schools for science equipment and field trips

We invite people to add their name to the growing list of donors who support the Fund for a Better Russell County Area. In February, the Dane G. Hansen Foundation will match gifts 150%. Please make checks payable to RCACF or use a credit card at And because we want to share our love for Russell County too, RCACF is giving donors the opportunity to nominate their favorite charity to be entered in a drawing for a $1,000 grant.

“We believe people share our vision for a thriving Russell County Area where people chose to live, raise their families and call home. Your gift to the Fund for a Better Russell County Area makes that vision even more possible. Please join us by showing some love for Russell County,” said Angie Muller, RCACF Executive Director.
